The Canada Grazing Exchange (CGE) is a free online resource designed to connect farmers with available grazing pastures or cover crop fields to livestock owners and ranchers seeking grazing land. Through an interactive map, CGE promotes integrating livestock onto cropland and encourages proper grassland management - both essential for improving soil health.

How to use the Grazing Exchange

Grazing Contracts

Grazing contracts are mutually beneficial legal agreements made between livestock owners and land owners, where the livestock are permitted to graze on the specified land of the land owner. The contracts may be referred to as grazing agreements or grazing leases. The agreements allow animals to graze on open land; this leads to various benefits for the welfare of the animals and the pasture fields. See below to learn more:
